In 2010 I was commissioned by Gaspard and Dancers to write an original work for their benefit performance for Haiti Relief. I was asked to compose music for already completed choreography. The dancers were in rehearsals using a work by John Adams to keep time. I attended many rehearsals with a stop watch and staff paper to synchronize musical events to their movements.
